Ionia Daily Standard, 2 Aug 1900

Mrs. Jane Headland, who died on Tuesday, July 31, was one of the pioneers of the 
county, coming here in the summer of 1846.  She was born in Jerusalem, Seneca 
county, N. Y., Feb. 29, 1820.  She had resided in the house where she died for 43 
years.  For several years she has made her home at the old homestead in Berlin, 
with her niece, Elizabeth Clark, who has cared for her.  Her death was caused by 
apoplexy.  Funeral was held this morning.
