The Name of Mary Heald Added to the List of Departed. Mrs. Mary Heald died at the home of her son, Rev. Nelson Heald, in Easton, July 9, 1897, at the ripe old age of nearly 87 years. Her maiden name was Lavery, and she was born in Eastern New York, July 28, 1810, and was married to Thomas W. Heald, Feb. 25, 1880, and in May, 1855, removed from St. Lawrence County, N.Y., where they then resided, to Ionia County, Michigan, locating in the township of Orleans. Seven children, four boys and three girls, were born to them, but two of the sons and also the husband preceded her to the spirit land, leaving two sons and three daughters to mourn the loss of a dear mother, whose love for her children was very great. She and her husband were both members of the M.E. church until about 18 years of age, when they joined the United Brethren church and remained faithful and consistent members until death called them to the Church Triumphant. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.H. Shelly, and interment was in Orleans Cemetery.
