              FORMER IONIA MAN DIES IN CAR CRASH ON MOUNTAIN ROAD
            Leslie Heald and Young Wife Killed Near San Bernardino

Word has been received in Ionia today that Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Heald, of 
Pomona, California, formerly residents of Ionia, were instantly killed Saturday 
night, December 10, in an automobile crash on the Lake Arrowhead highway near 
San Bernardino.

The Heald couple, in company with another couple, were driving the mountain 
road to view the effects of a heavy snow fall in the mountains when their car 
collided with a snow plow.

Mr. Heald was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Heald who formerly resided in 
Easton township. He was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Snell, West Lincoln 
ave., and of Mrs. Ed. Yeomans, Mrs. Sam Keller and Mrs. Levi Marshall.
