Leaves husband and Fine Family of Children One by one the older residents of the village are passing. On Monday of this week Mrs. Thomas Healey, another Christian mother of the village, bade good-bye to this earthly life and is now classed with "those gone before". Mrs. Healey was one of those quiet, dearest of mothers, whose sincere devotion to her home, family and friends endeared her to all who knew her. Her love and loyalty has been passed on to her children who have inherited many of her splendid qualities. She has been in poor health for some time but death came suddenly Monday. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding March 11, 1929. She was a charter member of the Congregational Church and a loyal supporter of all its interests. For many years as she was a Rebekah in the lodge here and was a faithful member of the Corps Ladies of the GAR as long as it existed. The children have visited the home of their parents here, showing their devotion to their old home. OBITUARY Reka H.Schmeck was born in Germany, February 23, 1858, and died October 10,1932. She came to this country with her parents at the age of four years. they settled in saginaw where she lived until she was married to Tomas Healey March 11, 1879. Eight children were born to this union, one dying in infancy. The children are: Harry J. of Onaway; Henry W.Grand Rapids; Elmer L, Whittier,Cal.' Mrs. Vera Pilkinton, Greenville; Mrs Grace Stiles, Grand Rapids, Mrs Lottie Moran, Detroit and Mrs Anna Loomis of Big Rapids. All the children were present at the funeral excepting Elmer of California. The funeral was held at the Congregational Church Wednesday afternoon. Her pastor Rev. George J.Start gave the sermon and Mrs Start and Mrs T. Martindale accompanied by Mrs. L.T Gilson furnished the music. Burial was at Lakeside. Those from out of town to attend the funeral besides the children were; a brother Robert Schmeck and son Joseph, nieces and nephews Olga, Lillie and William Schmeck of Saginaw; a brother-in-law James Butler of Otsego; other relatvies were Mr and Mrs Orin Butler of Kalamazoo; Mr and Mrs Lewis Healey, William Healey and daughter Mabel of Otsego; Mr and Mrs Gay Adams and Mrs Elsie Brockway of South Haven. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many friends and neighbors for all their kindness and sympathy and for the beautiful flowers given, and sent by absent friends at this time of our greatest sorrow.
