Hearld, 63, of Nickleplate road, Muir, died Saturday in Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born November 22, 1916, in Hubbardston, the son of Thomas and Zadie Hearld, and graduated from St. John the Baptist School in Hubbardston. Mr. Hearld served in Europe with the United States Army during World War II, and was a retired employee of Fisher Body in Lansing He married Katheryn Lowery in November 1947. He worked for the Ionia Public Schools at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, five sons, Thomas of Muir, Fred of Palo, Benedict of Lansing, John of Ionia and Daniel at home; six daughters, Delores Buckholz of Howell, Marilyn Priest of Maple Rapids, Jean and Sue Hearld, both of Ionia, and Anne and Teresa Hearld, both at home; one brother, Louis, of Hubbardston; and 11 grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. Rosary was said Monday evening in the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir and funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. John the Baptist church in Hubbardston, with Rev. Eugene Fox officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
