THOMAS): CARSON CITY GAZETTE, 10-25-1956: "Rites Held for Zadie Hearld - Funeral services for Mrs. Zadie Helen Hearld, 69, Hubbardston housewife, who passed away at her home there Thursday morning, October 18, a 5 o'clock, were held from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Hubbardston Monday at 10 a.m. Celebrant of the Mass was Fr. Thomas Heahan of Farmington, assisted by Fr. Bernard Beahan of Sturgis, deachon, and Fr. F. R. Fox, pastor of the church, sub-deacon. Interment was in St. John the Baptist cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Burns-Gunther Funeral Home here. Mrs. Hearld was born at Hubbardston August 4, 1887, and married Thos. Hearld at Hubbardston, moving to the home where she passed away in 1939. Her husband died in September 1945. Mrs. Hearld had been in poor health for three years and had been seriously ill the past year. She was a member of St. Bernadette's Guild and the Rosary Altar Society. Surviving are five sons, Thomas of Hubbardston, Louis of Westphalia, Joe of Chicago, Fred of Muir and Robert of Matherton; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, John and Leo Nolan of Chicago; and five sisters, Margaret Nolan, Mrs. Monica Harmon, Mrs. Genevieve Schroeder and Mrs. Catherine Baer of Chicago and Mrs. Mary Grubaugh of Lansing." IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI, October 18, 1956: "Deaths - Zadie Herald - HUBBARDSTON - Zadie Herald, 68, of Hubbardston died Thursday morning at 5 o'clock at her home after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. John the Baptist church in Hubbardston and interment will be in Westside cemetery. Funeral arrangements will be in care of the Burns funeral home, Carson City. Friends and relatives will be received at the residence and rosary will be said there at 8 o'clock Thursday evening."
