A Life of Perfect Trust in God Mrs. Emily Heath, a loving old lady who appreciated everything that anyone ever did for her, gently fell asleep at midnight Monday night. The face was always a beautiful one for it was always lit up, with the confidence of a life hid with God. She leaned on the strong arm of faith when often times there was little else to lean on. Bereft of nearly all her family, she and her oldest son,Truman, lived together, although a grandson, Arthur, lived with them many years and was a great source of happiness to his grandmother. All who knew Mrs.Heath loved her for her sweet character and were always reminded by her of the goodness of God. Thus she gave to her little world a faith unshaken. Emily Chilton was born in Guelf, Ontario, Canada, on Sept. 12, 1836, and where she was residing at e time of her marriage to Alonzo Heath in 1858. At about the time of the close of the Civil War Mr and Mrs Heath moved to this place, where Mr Heath engaged in house building and general construction work. About 80 of the structures of this city were built by him. On Sept 1, 1901 he passed away at the age of 64 years. To this union were born three children, Truman, the eldest, of Lake Odessa, Anna who died in infancy and Edwin who died on July 31, 1913. Mrs.Heath was one of the oldest members of the Lake Odessa M.E. Church, but because of ill health was unable for a number of years to attend its services, but ever manifested a lively interest in the work of the church. To her the Christian life was one of vital blessed communion with her Lord and she lived in daily anticipation of the glorious translation to that City whose builder and ruler is God, and to the glad reunion of those whom she loved on earth and who long since had been dwellers in the land of endless light. Besides the son with whom she lived, she is survived by two grandchildren, Arthur Heath of Lansing, Mich., and Mrs.Myrtle Beckman of the same place. Mrs. Heath's condition was not considered serious until the neighborhood was surprised at the news of her sudden removal from their midst, on the morning of Feb.5,1923 at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 23 days. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for their kindness, and especially Mrs.Robertson, Mrs.Nettle Lapo and Mrs.Pliny Russel for services rendered and the minister for his kind words at the time of the burial of our mother and grand mother.
