August 8, 1913 EDWIN HEATH IS KILLED BY TRAIN Run Down Near McCords by Flyer Thursday Evening Edwin Heath was run down by the west bound passenger Thursday evening about 5 o'clock and instantly killed. The accident took place near McCords where Heath got off the east bound local and started to walk to Alto. His skull was crushed and his body considerably mangled. OBITUARY Edwin Heath was born in Litchfield, Hillsdale county August 29, 1866. He came with his people to Lake Odessa in 1887 his father first buying the red planing mill here, and then later having traded this for a farm, they built the mill owned by Mrs.Heath. Edwin was a first class machinist both in structure work and repair work. The remains were brought here Friday noon and taken to the undertaking rooms of G.A.Weed for preparation for the funeral service at the family home Saturday afternoon, the sermon being preached by Elder Mourer. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. The deceased leaves an aged mother Mrs.Emily Heath, a brother Truman Heath, a son Arthur and twin daughters Maude and Myrtie Heath all to mourn his untimely and tragic death.
