Burial at Lakeside. Former Lake Odessa Resident. Jerome Heaton, a former well known resident of Lake Odessa for many years, died on Tuesday of last week at the home of his daughter Mrs.Ernest Ruehs near Caledonia. He was about 80 years old. The funeral was held at St.Pauls Lutheran Church near the home on Friday afternoon and interment was made in Lakeside cemetery here. Mr. Heaton came from Ohio to Lake Odessa in the mid 1890's and was associated with his brother Lemuel in the flouring mill business here for a few years. Later he was janitor at the old school building for nearly 25 years. He built the house now occupied by Mr.and Mrs.G.M. Woolsey on Sixth Avenue. Since the death of his wife, about 15 years ago, he has made his home with his son-in-law and daughter near Caledonia. Besides the daughter he is survived by one sister, Mrs Ada Fellers of Ohio, three grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew.
