Belding News, 3 Nov 1904

Martin V. Hecathorn died last Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of 
Bright’s disease, aged 64 years.  He has been a resident of this city many years, 
and was an old soldier in the civil war, and was respected by all who knew him.  
He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Ervin Van Gilder, to mourn their loss.  
Funeral services will be held at the house today at 2 o’clock p.m., conducted by 
Rev. J. W. Sheehan.  Interment in the Belding cemetery.
