Ionia – Harold J. Hecht, 83, of Ionia died March 15 at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1906, the son of William and Edith Patterson Hecht.

He farmed in the Ionia area all his life.

Surviving are two brothers, William R. of Saranac and Erford J. of Crystal; 
three sisters, Beulah Peterson of Grand Rapids, Elizabeth Sprague of Fenwick, 
and Ethel Hecht of Ionia; several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at l p.m. Monday from the Cook funeral Home, with the 
Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and from 2 
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

A memorial for Ionia County Memorial Hospital Foundation has been established, 
in care of the funeral home.
