JEAN MARIE HECHT, 81
Jean Marie Hecht, 81, of Saranac passed away Dec. 23, 2020. She was born Nov. 
12, 1939, in Muskegon, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Koekkoek) Eller. 
Jean married William Hecht Feb. 12, 1977 in East Lansing.

Jean was an active member of Saranac Community Church  having involvement with 
the food pantry and Christmas Store. She was a member of Farm Bureau. Jean was a  
very talented singer and enjoyed sharing her songs with many. She was very kind 
and always enjoyed visits with many.

Jean is survived by her loving  husband Bill Hecht of Saranac. Children; Jeff 
Baars of Saranac, Sandy Hecht of Clarksville, TN, Jodie Baars of Gladwin, 
Michelle Gingrich of Clarksville, TN and Steve (Lynn) Hecht of Clarksville, TN., 
10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. In-laws; Mike Hecht of 
Florida, Barb (Greg) Hotchkiss of Saranac and Tom (Joy) Hecht of Saranac. 
Mother-in-law Evelyn Hecht of Hastings.

Preceding Jean in death was her son Jamie Baars, brother Bill Eller and father-
in-law Bill Hecht Sr.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of Jean's life at a 
later date. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Those wishing 
may make memorial contributions to Saranac Community Church. Online condolences 
may b made at lakefuneralhomes.com.
