Gary L. Hecht, age 71 of Saranac, went home to be with the Lord, May 1, 2015, in
Grand Rapids.  He was born May 12, 1943 in St. Johns, Michigan the son of
William and Greta (Underwood) Hecht.  He graduated from Saranac High School
class of 1962.  Gary was a member of Grace Brethren Church.  He loved auto
racing, blue grass and country music.

Gary is survived by his father Bill and Evelyn Hecht of Saranac; brothers, Bill
(Jean) Hecht Jr. of Saranac, Mike Hecht of Florida and Tom (Joy) Hecht of
Saranac; sisters, Barb (Gregg) Hotchkiss of Saranac; step brother, Bruce (Cindy)
Curtis of Hastings; step sisters, Wendy (Mike) Hamlin of Florida and Cindy
Harrold of Hastings; a very dear friend Connie Hollister of Lake Odessa and many
nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother Greta in 1988.

Funeral services will be held, 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, at Lake Funeral Home
in Ionia with Pastor Bryan Maley officiating.  Interment Sunset Memorial
Gardens.  Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m. until time
of service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Relay For
Life in memory of Gary.
