Wave, Thurs. Aug. 30, 1951 RITES HELD SAT. FOR VIOLA HECKER Mrs. Viola Bell Hecker, 76, widow of Chester Hecker, died Wednesday morning at her farm home southeast of Woodland near the Kilpatrick church. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Hecker was a lifelong resident of that area and was the daughter of pioneer residents, John and Mary Kilpatrick. She resided on the farm adjacent to the one her parents lived on when they came here in 1843. Her father, some years after he settled there built the first Kilpatrick church building located on the site of the present church. Her husband died unexpectedly 17 years ago. Surviving are a son, Ward of Gd. Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Trellis) Cox and Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) McCurdy, both of Woodland. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Kilpatrick church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Vernon Beardsley officiating. Burial in the Woodland Memorial Park.
