She was born on May 27, 1911, in Riley Township, Clinton County, Michigan, the daughter of John and Mary (Trierweiler) Schneider. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting & crocheting, cooking, crossword puzzles and reading. She especially loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society of Pewamo. She was married to her loving husband, Joseph on May 31, 1934, who preceded her in death, as did her daughters, Marie (Lawrence Fernholz), Joann (Robert Ladiski), son Donald, and daughters-in-law, Ann (James) and Linda (Edward). Her brothers, Leonard (Regina), Herman (Mary), Richard (Marian), Joseph (Midge), Raymond (Jackie), Edwin (Florence), Harold (Marie), John (Bernice) and sister Loretta preceded her in death also. Surviving are her sons and daughters, Jean (Louis) Schafer, John (Sherry), James (Ellen), Edward (Joan), Thomas, Theresa (Edward) Ladiski, Kenneth (Joyce), Joseph (Ruth) and sons-in-law, Lawrence (Maggie) Fernholz and Robert (Joann) Ladiski. Sisters-in-law, Midge (Joseph) Schneider and Bernice (John) Schneider also survive her. She was the happy and proud grandmother of 32 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and through extended families, 10 additional grandchildren, 14 additional great grandchildren and one additional great-great grandchild. Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with Rev. Fr. Larry King presiding, burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pewamo. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday at the George Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler.
