Mrs. Heether suffered from a stroke shortly after going to Saranac. Her home was at 1022 Alderman street. Matilda Pelgrim Heether was born in Miriam, daughter of Fred Pelgrim, pioneers in that district. Mr. Heether passed away about 3 years ago and since that time her son, Elmer and family have made their home with her. Funeral services were held from the Fales funeral home Saturday afternoon at 3:30. Rev. H.S. Ellis, her pastor, officiated, and interment was in the family lot in Smyrna cemetery. Surviving besides the son, Elmer, are two daughters, Mrs. Clinton Hayes and Mrs. H. Myers, both living near Saranac; and a sister, Mrs. F.D. Hooker, of Ionia.
