She was born in Germany September 10, 1860 and came to the United States in the year 1880 where she resided in Ionia. She was married to Charles Tafel in 1880 who died November 9, 1890. April 22, 1908 she was married to August Heiden. Mr. Heiden preceded her in death in 1917. She was a member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church of Ionia. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Otto L. Ruehs Sr. and Miss Amelia Tafel of Ionia; a son, Otto Tafel of Chicago, Illinois; seven sisters, Mrs. Fred Doescher and Mrs. Hannah Kaer of Manengo, Illinois, Mrs. Charles Breamer of Belvidere, Illinois, Mrs. Knute Calney of Caledonia, Illinois, Mrs. William Ecterfield of Glen, Illinois, Mrs. Fred Rubach and Mrs. William Kosbar of Ionia; three brothers, Albert Stoll of Crystal Lake, Illinois, William Stoll of Ionia and Herman Stoll of Belvidere, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted from the home at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and from the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church in Ionia at 2 o’clock. The Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Oakhill cemetery.
