IONIA-  Lewis J. Heilman, 66, of 222 E. Lincoln in Ionia, died on Aug. 29 at 
Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 7, 1914 in Reed City, the son of John C. and Stella Coates 
Heilman.

Mrs. Heilman had been an Ionia resident since 1923. he was employed by the city 
and worked at the Hall Fowler Memorial Library.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.

Survivors include four sons; Marvin of Ionia, Lonnie and Loren -both of 
Portland, and John of Clarksville; a daughter, Lorna Parsons of Ionia; two 
brothers, Ted of Lansing and Ora of Ionia; four sisters, Doris Wilson of Howard 
City, Vera Leonard of Ionia, Viola Hamilton of Lansing and Irene Hall of 
Charlotte; and six grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 2 at the Myers-Roetman Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron 
Shook of the Ionia Free Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was in Tuttle Cemetery.
