Ionia Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Sept. 24, 1990

IONIA- Marvin L. Heilman, 51, of Ionia died Sept. 17 at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1939, in Ionia, the son of Lewis and Frances Greenacre 
Heilman.

He was graduated from Ionia High School and served in the National Guard for 10 
years. He worked 15 years at Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons, and was security guard 
at Ionia Free Fair for 20 years.

A marionette maker, he performed in Ionia County and surrounding area with his 
own marionettes, and served at the opening act for many well-known stars.

Surviving are his mother, Frances Frazee of Eastport; three brothers, Lonnie of 
Ionia, John of Lake Odessa, and Loren of Portland; a sister, Lorna Parsons of 
Ionia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Heilman, in 1980.

Funeral services were held Friday at Myers Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Craig 
Shafer officiating.

Burial was in Tuttle Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and the Crippled 
Children's Foundation in care of the funeral home.
