Had Been Visiting in The Afternoon – Not Feeling Well – Started For Bed And Fell to The Floor – Was Well Known and Long Resident. Mrs. J. Henrisch dropped dead at her home last evening, at a little after 7 o’clock as she was preparing to retire. Apoplexy was the cause of her sudden demise which was without warning. Mrs. Henrisch lived in her home on West Main street opposite the VanderHeyden residence. She had not been in good health of late, but during the afternoon visited Mrs. George Dodson, the Dodson family occupying rooms in the same house. At about 3 o’clock she started to go home, but fell back in her chair. It was but temporary effort for her to recover, however, and nothing was thought of it. After supper she started for bed. Sitting on a chair in her room, she suddenly fell to the floor on her right side. Mrs. Dodson stepped to the foot of the stairs and called. Receiving no response Mrs. Dodson rushed to the woman and found her gasping for breath. Dr. Cope was called and pronounced it a case of apoplexy. Mrs. Henrisch was 73 years of age. Her husband died many years ago, and she is survived by one son, Fred H. Henrisch. Fred was in his shop at the time. When word reached him that his mother was ill, he rushed home to find her dead. He had left the house but a short time before, having just returned to work from supper. Mrs. Henrisch has two sisters in Germany, and a niece in Battle Creek. She was one of the good German women of the city, and no one knew her but to admire her good qualities. She belonged to St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Jefferson street, and the funeral will be there Sunday afternoon. The remains will be laid in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery by side of her husband.
