He was born Nov. 25, 1946 in Sheridan, Mich., the son of Everett and Evelyn (Taylor) Heintzelman. David married Dona Nolan on March 15, 1969, in Ionia. She passed away Feb. 7, 2005. David will be greatly missed by his grandchildren. He was a proud father and grandfather. David's grandchildren were his pride and joy and he was looking forward to meeting his fourth one due in January. His pool was the favorite hangout for many and the grandkids loved grandpa's treasure hunts. David's favorite pastime was classic car shows and restoring the '68 Camaro, along with being a U of M fan. David is survived by his children: Amy (Curtis) Cusack of Lowell and Christopher (Molly) Heintzelman of Lansing; grandchildren, Nolan John Cusack, Ella Grace Cusack, Dona Florence Heintzelman and grandson on the way; sister Sandy (Butch) Brown of Woodbury; brothers and sister-in-law Tom and Jani Millard of Ionia, Tony and Patricia Nolan of Grand Rapids, Sandy Heintzelman of Ionia, Richard Dixon of Ionia, Robert Dixon of Brazil, Bill and Mary-Lynn Dixon of Woodland, Gary and Kay Arnold of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dona and two brothers, Ronald and Kenneth. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Pastor Greg Gladding and Mr. Dan Balice officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to the Michigan Heart Association.
