December 21, 1972 Services Held for Retired farmer Walter A. Heintzelman, 91, retired farmer and carpenter passed away early Saturday morning following an extended illness. He was born October 16, 1881 in Sebewa township, son of William E. and Ida (Smith) Heintzelman and resided in North Dakota for many years before moving back to the local area in 1939. Surviving are his wife; three sons Alvin W. of Alpena, William E. of Lowell and Raymond L. of Holt; five daughters, Mrs.Floyd (Ethel) Grover and Mrs.Clare (Edith) Edwins both of Bradenton, Fla., Mrs.Wilbur (Marcella) Gierman of Portland, Mrs.Wesley (Lucille) Meyers of Sunfield and Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Hasman of Montrose; 36 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren; a step-daughter, Lillian McCullum of Brainard, Minn.; a sister Mrs.Eva Follett of Lake Odessa and a brother, Harry of Ionia. A son Charles and a daughter Velma M. preceded him in death. Funeral services were held on Monday at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ralph Kallwelt of the Sunfield Methodist church officiated with burial in the East Sebewa Cemetery.
