EVENING ----------- RESIDENT OF LAKE ODESSA SINCE 1912. SUFFERED SEVERAL STROKES OF PARALYSIS. FUNERAL TUESDAY. ----------- The funeral of John Heintzelman was held at the home on Fifth avenue, Tuesday afternoon. A nephew Rev. Boone officiated and his daughter sang. Burial was at Lakeside. Mr. Heintzelman was a resident of Lake Odessa since 1912. He has been in poor health for several years, having suffered several strokes of paralysis. He was a quiet, much respected citizen, and a pleasant home companion. He leaves many friends, He was 78 years of age. OBITUARY John Heintzelman, son of Reuben and Sarah Heintzelman, was born in Southington township, Trumbull county, Ohio, June 30, 1858. At the age of four years he moved twith his parents to Cascade township, Kent county, Michigan. He departed this life at his home in Lake Odessa, June 5,1937, after a lingering illness at the age of 78 years., 11 months and five days. He was married to Helen F. Lynn, January 1. 1883. To this union were born four children; Arthur, who died in infancy. Mrs. Edith Wells and Alfred Heintzelman of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Bernice Schantz of Maple Grove. After this marriage they lived near Dutton, thence to St. Louis, Mich., where they lived but a short time and then to their own farm home near Dutton where they lived until the spring of 1912 when they moved to Lake Odessa where he spent his remaining years. On November 28, 1920 hie wife preceded him in death. On April 16, 1924 he was married to Nellie Kingman who has been his constant companion, caring so tenderly for him during his illness. Several years ago he was converted and baptized, living in strong faith and waiting for the Lord to call him home. He is survived by his widow, the three children, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five step children, two sisters Mrs. Anna Wibur of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Mina Haines of Paris township, two brothers Frank and Albert of Dutton. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. God knows the way. He holds the key: He guides us with unerring hand; Sometime with tearless eyes, we'll see.
