Daily Sentinel-Standard - Monday, Aug. 23, 1937

Miss Ida Heitman, 58 years of age, died at the home of her brother, William 
Heitman, 501 Jones street, Monday  morning at 3:30 o'clock following an 
illness of the past several years. 

She was born September 19, 1778, at Kagondorf, Germany, a daughter of Mr. 
and Mrs. Carl Heitman, and came to Ionia with them when she was two years 
old. After their death a short time later, she lived with her brother, 
William and wife, and has lived with them since. 

She was a member of the st. John's Lutheran church but was restricted from 
taking part in social activities by her delicate health.

Survivors are her brother, William Heitman, Frank of Lansing, Emile of 
Pontiac, and Richard of Alham.

Tuesday, August 24, 1937 - Daily Sentinel-Standard 
Prayer services for Miss Ida Heitman, who died Monday morning a the home of 
her brother, William on Jones street, will be held from the brother's home 
at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, followed by funeral services held at the 
st. John's Lutheran church at 2:30 conducted by Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor. 
Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery. The body will be at the Stone 
funeral home until Wednesday morning when it will be removed to the home on 
Jones street.
