She was born May 24, 1924 in Chester Twp. the daughter of Franklin and Maybelle (Simpson) De Pue. Audrey was a graduate of Hubbardston High School Class of 1941. She married George P. Helman on April 1, 1944. He passed away in 1995. Audrey was a simple country girl with style and a pretty smile. She loved to talk and she would to anyone, no matter what their life status was. Audrey loved gardening, cooking, animals, painting, playing cards, and most important her family and life itself. Audrey is survived and very much loved by her children, Lana (Michael) Seiler of Muir, Colan (Patricia) Helman of Orleans, Betty (John) Lamphere of Muir and Valeria (Phillip) Barclay of Fenwick; 21 great-grand-children, five great-great- grandchildren, four step-great-great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews and sister-in-law, Bata Helman. A special thanks to Robin (Steve) Martin for their care in the last 5 ½ years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Helman; 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces & nephews. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, August 19th, 11 a.m. at North Plains Church. Interment at North Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
