Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Wed. April 12. 1933

Charles L. Helmer, 63, of Easton, died Wednesday morning following a years 
illness of heart disease. The funeral services will be conducted Saturday 
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2:30 at the Dildine church by Dr. 
Paul L. Stewart. Burial will be in the Easton cemetery.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Helmer, born in Easton and had always 
resided in that township where he had been a farmer. His late home was on the 
Turkey Trail, three miles west of Ionia.

He leaves  his widow, five children, Clara Helmer, Lyons: Mrs. Bruce Klinger, 
Ionia: Mrs. Joseph Lucott, Flint: Burton, at home: Mrs. Chester Larson, Easton: 
two stepsons, Leon Pierce, Ionia and Donald Pierce, at home: a brother, Harvey 
Helmer, Detroit: two sisters, Mrs. Burt Stowell, Easton and Mrs. Harry Thomas, 
Ionia: one half sister, Mrs. Truman Currie, Belding.
