Harvey E. Helmer, 69, of Detroit, formerly of Ionia, died at Grace hospital 
last Tuesday after being a medical patient for five days.  He had been in poor 
health for two years.

Masonic funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 13, in Detroit with 
interment in Acacia Park Masonic cemetery in Oakland county.

Attending the services from Ionia were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thomas, Mrs. Anna 
Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stowell.

He was born in Ionia March 11, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Helmer.  
He lived in Ionia until 40 years ago.  A contractor and builder, he retired 
from active business about ten years ago.  He was a member of the Detroit 
branch of the Masons.

Surviving are the wife, Rachael; three sons, DeVillo of Los Angeles, Calif.; 
and Harold and Russell of Detroit; one daughter, Marion Cook of Detroit; nine 
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Burr Stowell and Mrs. Harry Thomas of Ionia.
