BURTON HELMER
Burton Helmer, 69, of 3030 Turkey Trail died Tuesday morning at Ionia Memorial 
Hospital.

He was born July 16, 1907 in Easton township, the son of Charles L. and Minnie 
Starks Helmer. A lifelong Ionia resident, he married Gladys Rhoades March 14, 
1927 in Ionia.

Mr. Helmer was a self employed contractor and mason.

Surviving include his wife, one son, Charles, at home; two daughters, 
Mrs.Bernice Falsetta and Mrs Charlotte Lehman, both of Ionia; two step-brothers, 
Leon Pierce and Donald Pierce, both of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs.Myrtle Klinger of 
Florida and Mrs.Grace Larsen of Ionia. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 
three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, one brother and his stepmother Margaret Helmer preceded him in 
death.

Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home in Ionia with Rev. 
Nolan Williams officiating.

Burial is in Easton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday 2 
to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
