Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Jul 1984

Perry J. Helmes, 52, of 3040 Haynor Rd., Ionia, died Tuesday morning at Ionia
County Memorial Hospital.  He was born June 13, 1932, in Ionia, the son of
William S. and Mae Rosa Bennett Helmes.  He was formerly employed at Standard
Lumber in Ionia and Portland Products.  He was married on November 23, 1951, in
Ionia to Nancy Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Robert Helmes and Bruce Helmes both
of Ionia; two brothers, Harold Helmes and Melvin Helmes, both of Ionia; four
sisters, Mary Esther Daddazio of Ionia, Phillys Foster of Greenville, Marge
Smith of Portland and Betty Heyns of Ionia; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Roetman Funeral Home. 
Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home
Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
