The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Saturday, August 30, 1975
Portland.  Mrs. Katherine Hende, 88, of 945 Green, died Friday at St. Lawrence 
Hospital in Lansing.  She was born December 25, 1886 in Westphalia and was the 
widow of Lee W. Hende who died in 1970.  Surviving are a son, Robert Lee of 
San Jose, California, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  
Funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Neller funeral home at Portland.  
Rev. Maurice Christensen of Portland Baptist church will officiate and 
interment will be at the Portland cemetery.
