Ionia Sentinel, Saturday, February 7, 1970

Lee W. Hendee, 86, of 339 Pleasant, Portland, died Friday afternoon at Ionia 
Manor.  He was a lifelong resident of Portland and until retirement was rural 
mail carrier 48 years.  He was born August 6, 1883 in Portland.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine; son, Dr. Robert L. Hendee of San Jose, 
Calif.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Neller funeral home.  Rev. 
Maurice Christenson and Rev. Robert Raynhout will officiate.  Interment will be 
at Portland cemetery.

Bearers will be Peter Baker, Kenneth Jameson, Thomas Haney, John Beckett, Glenn 
Perry and James Iiams.
