Dead was Larry J. Henderson, 23, of 176 W. Cross Road, Clarksville. Listed in critical condition with multiple injuries sustained in the same accident was Mark E Fritch, 25, of Grand Rapids, the driver of the car in which Henderson was a passenger. ACCORDING TO Kent County Sheriff's department, the accident occurred about midnight Thursday when Fritch's car careened off an 1-96 overpass across US 131 just south of Comstock Park. Officers said Fritch had been driving east on I-96, at a high rate of speed, when his car left the expressway. The car crossed the median of I-96, straddled a guardrail for about 100 feet, and flew over the southbound lanes of US 131. FRITCH'S CAR landed in the median, rolled over, landed upright, rolled over again and slid across the Northbound lanes of US 131, coming to rest against a guardrail. The drop from I-96 to US I3I was estimated at 30 feet by officers. Fritch's vehicle was crushed and debris from the car was scattered along its route.
