Hendricks, son of Millard and Lucy Hendricks, was born in Alton, Kent County, Mich., Jan. 18, 1869, and passed away July 29, 1933. He was the third of a family of twelve children, consisting of the late Mrs. Arthur Benton of Detroit; Floyd Hendrick of Ionia; Althea, who died when a child; Mrs. Bertha Beach of Palo; Mrs. Frank Kimball and Mrs. Bert Staines of Bushnell; the late Mrs. Edgar Hull of Lyons; Mrs. Jessie Wilson of Sheridan; Mrs. Ernie Thomas of Fenwick; the late Miss Cassie Hendrick of Ronald and Orva Hendrick of Detroit. At the age of sixteen he united with the Seventh Day Adventist church at Lowell of which faith he had always been a follower. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Zua Hendrick of Battle Creek. To this son was born one son, Hollis, now of Owosso; and one daughter, Lucy, who with their mother, the daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, the five sisters and two brothers are left to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted husband and father, besides a host of other relatives and friends, to whom his daily life was a living example of true Christianity. Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon with Elder S.E. Wright, president of the Michigan Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, officiating. The singing was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bliss of Ronald, accompanied by Mrs. John Stedman. Interment in the Palo Cemetery. Pall bearers were George Conkey, Byron Haskins, Burton Partridge, Herbert Kellogg, Vere Brooks and John Stedman. Relatives from the way were here from Detroit, Muskegon, Grant Rapids, Evart, Sheridan, Grand Ledge, Owosso, Flint, Lansing, Lowell, Edmore, Alma, Lyons and Ithaca.
