Hengesbach, 75, of Cosby, Tenn., formerly of Portland, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2006. Born on May 13, 1931 the son of Lawrence and Theresa (Pohl) Hengesbach. He worked for Fisher Body for 38 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He resided in Portland until retiring to Cosby, Tenn. He and Joanne loved the beauty and warmth of the mountains. He enjoyed helping out the Bread Basket, doing puzzles, and walking. He loved having family and friends visit his home in Cosby. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Joanne K. in 2005 and his brother William. Surviving are his children; Terri (Gary) Schaaf, Mike (Gina) Hengesbach, Angela Hengesbach, Roni (Steve) Beck and Jim Hengesbach; grandchildren, Aaron Hengesbach, Trent, Heidi, Dane, and Noah Hengesbach, Brian, Michael and Katie Beck, Chad (Melinda) Schaaf and John (Meggin) Schaaf; three great-grandchildren; and his three brothers and two sisters and many nieces and nephews and good friends. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated December 27, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King presiding. Rite of Committal followed at Portland Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation, the Good Shepard Building Fund, Cosby, TN, or to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Reynald.
