Urban Hengesbach
Urban J. Hengesbach, 72, of 14645 Lehman Road, Rt.2, Portland, died Saturday January
6, at a Lansing hospital.

He was born November 1, 1906, in Westphalia, to William Hengesbach and Margaret 
Sontag. Mr. Hengesbach was a retired farmer and a member of St. Joseph Society and
St. Mary's church of Westphalia.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; four sons, John of Portland, Robert of
Westphalia, Marvin of Vermontville; one daughter Mrs. Rosella Lonier of Lansing and six grand children.
One son, Julius, preceded him in death in 1965.

Also surviving are three brothers, Anthony and Sylvester of Westphalia and Father
Julius Hengesbach of Niles; two sisters, Mrs. Antionette Koeingsknecht and Mrs. Loretta 
Rademacher of Fowler.

Rosary service were held Monday, January 8m at St. Mary's and a funeral mass was
held Tuesday, January 9, at St. Mary's with Rev. Fr. James Schmitt officiating.. Burial
was in St. Mary's cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Neller Funeral Home, Portland.
