Lakewood News, 25 Nov 1971

Leon L. Henney, 78, of 2071 Godwin SE, Grand Rapids, passed away early Saturday
morning at the Ferguson-Droste Hospital, Grand Rapids, following an extended
illness.  He was born in Carlton Township, Barry County, son of Joseph and Mary
(Zuschnitt) Henney, and lived in the Lake Odessa area before moving to Grand
Rapids in 1923, where he was a realtor.  Mr. Henney was a member of the Park
Congregational Church of Grand Rapids.

He married Burmiah L. Leppard of Lake Odessa in December, 1914, who survives;
also a brother, Homer Henney of Lake Odessa; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Henney reposed at the Pickens Funeral Chapel until Sunday noon, then was
taken to the Ronan Funeral Home at Grand Rapids where a prayer service was held
at 10:30 a.m. Monday.  Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at Pickens
Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa.  Rev. Carl Martinson officiated, with burial in
Lakeside Cemetery.
