Ionia Daily Standard, 6 Jun 1894

Carrie, wife of Robert A. Hepburn, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Burletson,
died this morning, after a long and painful illness.  The physician in
attendance expressed the opinion that she could not live through the night three
weeks ago, and since that time she has taken no nourishment.  During this time,
her eyes suppurated and ran out.  The case presented so many strange features,
that a post-mortem will be held to determine more exactly its character. 
Deceased was 23 years of age, had been married one year, was a consistent member
of the M.E. church, and was highly esteemed.
