Ionia Shoppers Guide  5 July 2008
Born on the Fourth of July in 1926, Harvey Heppe, age 81, of Orleans, will be 
watching fireworks from heaven this holiday.  Harvey died Monday of injuries 
from an auto accident in May.  Besides his beloved wife, Gertrude, he is 
survived by four children:  LuAnn (Tom) Phelps, Donna Ackley, Don (Karen) Heppe, 
and Linda (Dave) Odette; eight grandchildren; Elizabeth (Brandon) Morse, Josh, 
Andrew, Rachel, Henry, Olivia, Jacob and Owen; one great granddaughter, Jessica; 
two sisters; Mildred Hartman and Katherine (Stephen) Kenter; several sister and 
brother-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were 
conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Harger, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Shiloh Community 
Church with interment followed at Higbee Cemetery.  Arrangements by Schrauben-
Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia.  For those wishing, memorial 
contributions may be made to Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St.; Orleans, MI  
48865 or to First Responders PO Box 72; Orleans, MI 48865 in memory of Mr. 
Heppe.
