He was born October 19, 1929 in Orleans Twp. the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Schramm) Heppe. He married Lucille Possehn April 15, 1950 in Ionia. Bob was a member and past president of the Ionia Fishing and Hunting Club. He was a member of the Ionia Moose Lodge. He retired from General Tire in 1992 after many years of service. He enjoyed outdoor adventures of Moose and Deer Hunting, avid fisherman ice and fresh water, and the challenges of farming. He also enjoyed vacations with family and friends at his cottage on Houghton Lake. He will be sadly missed by his wife Lucille Heppe of Orleans. Son John and Connie Heppe of Orleans. Daughters Ruth and Dennis Thrasher of Tennessee, Mary and Rick Kramer of Ionia. Brother Harvey and Gertrude Heppe of Orleans. Sisters Katherine and Steve Kenter of Orleans, Mildred Hartman of Ionia. Sister in law Kathleen Heppe of Orleans. Grandchildren Amanda and Chris Wills, Cassandra Jackson, Kim and Gary Goodemoot, Chris and Christa Heppe, Dave and Tara Allen, Karinn Guthrie (Neal Swain), Jason Kramer and Lisa Kramer. Great Grandchildren Curtis Heppe, Cameron Heppe, Travis Goodemoot, Benjamin Goodemoot and Hailey Allen. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Adam and Vernon Heppe. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia Fishing and Hunting Club or Orleans First Responders. He will be remembered for his inner strength, courage, “embellished” stories and love of life.
