June 15, 2013 Louis D. "Bud" Herald, Jr., age 71, of Hubbardston, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 10, 1942 in Westphalia, the son of Louis D. and Ireta (O'Berry) Herald, Sr. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, being stationed at Navy Lakehusrt in New Jersey for four years, until his honorable discharge. bud married Wanda Hough on August 3rd, 1996 in Carson City. He worked for American Bumper for over ten years in Quality Assurance but enjoyed the saw sharpening business he ran on his own the most. Bud had a great love of the out of doors, including gardening, wood cutting, and taking rides on his 4-wheeler. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage. Bud is survived by his wife, Wanda; children Linda Williams of Lorton, Virginia and Frank (Cher) Herald of Osceola, Indiana; step-children Staci Morelock of Pewamo, Michael (Tracy) Beachnau of Nashville, Michigan, and Randy (Nicole) Beachnau of Avon Lake, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; siblings Frances (Bob) Case of Munising, Rosie (Dewey) Howard of DeWitt, Kay (Pat) Klein of Pewamo, Anita (Earl) Heppard of Hubbardston, and Joe Herald of Hubbardston. He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-son, Charles Everett. A funeral mass was held Wednesday, June 12th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston with Fr. Tom Thompson officiating. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Hubbardston American Legion Post 182. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home Carson City.
