IONIA- Keith B. Herbert, 63, of Ionia, died on Wednesday at Blodgett Memorial 
Medical Center in East Grand Rapids.

He was born the son of Bernard and Mary Bryan Herbert, on August 24, 1929, in 
Battle Creek.

He was graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1948. He worked for 14 years 
at the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons as an electrician. He attended Lansing 
Community College for seven years. Since 1986, he was employed as a corrections 
officer at the Michigan Reformatory.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara. They were married November 22, 1961.

Also surviving are three daughters, Becky Sue Parkin of Fenwick, Vicki Lynn 
Hatt and Deborah Jean Cahoon, of Ionia; one son, Michael Ronald Herbert of 
Florida; eight grandchildren; his mother of Lake Odessa; one brother, Kendall 
of Lake Odessa; and one sister, Marilyn Haney of Lake Odessa.

Funeral and committal services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday from the Cook funeral 
Home, Ionia, with the Rev. Keith McIver officiating.

Burial will be in the Easton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ed Mason, Joe Peckins, Paul Barefoot, Curt Bennett, Jerry 
Reams, and Dave Winquest. Honorary pallbearer is Richard Morlock. The Honor 
Guards will be provided from the Michigan Reformatory.

The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel from 7-9 p.m. on Friday. A 
memorial has been established for the wishes of the Herbert family, in care of 
the funeral home.
