JOHN HERON
Funeral services for John Heron 78, who died quietly in his chair in his 
apartment in the old GAR hall, were held at the Wortley home Saturday afternoon. 
Services were conducted by Rev. R.L. Bondway, of the United Brethren Church with 
interment at the Clarksville cemetery.

Mr. Heron was a life-long resident  of Ionia county, having lived at Campbell 
township most of his life. After his retirement several years ago he came to 
Lake Odessa where he acquired the old GAR hall which he has since occupied.

Mr. Heron was a member of the progressive Dunkard Church. He lost his wife 18 
years ago and a brother recently. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs.Nancy Catt, 
of Lake Odessa, and Maggie Darby, of Campbell Township.
