The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 28, 1972

Mrs. Hazel Herrick, 72, of 282 David highway, Saranac, died Thursday morning 
at the home of her son, Robert Herrick of Saranac.  She was born July 22, 1900 
in Six Lakes the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Bowen.  

She moved to Flint while a young girl and was married to Frank C. Herrick, who 
died December 19, 1954.  She taught in the Flint school system before coming 
to Saranac where she also taught school.  She was employed by Sears Roebuck 
catalog office in Ionia six years, was a member of Rebekah lodge and its past 
noble grand club, Saranac Community church and sang in its choir many years.

Surviving are a son, Robert of Saranac; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Jane 
Soderstorm and Mrs. Jean Ann Jackson of Sparta; ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at Saranac Community church with interment 
at Saranac cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the Saranac 
Community church.  Mrs. Herrick will be at Morris-Roetman funeral home in 
Saranac until time for services.
