Joseph A. Herrick, 88, died April 19 in Bradenton, Florida.  He had lived there 
seven years and before that in Grand Rapids and a short time in Ionia.  He was 
born March 17, 1874 at Rome, Ga.  He was a retired engineer from the C & O 
Railroad.  He was a life member of Valley city Lodge, No. 86, F.&A.M.

Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Gleason and nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Huffman Funeral Home with 
Rev. H. S. Ellis and the Masonic Lodge officiating.  Burial will be in Orleans 
cemetery.  The body will arrive at Huffman Funeral Home Thursday morning.
