The Ionia Standard, February 17, 1888
We find it our painful duty to record another death, that of Mrs. Adelbert 
Herrick of Bushnell, who died Tuesday afternoon of puerperal fever.  Aged, 25 
years, eleven months.  All that medical aid, a loving husband, and devoted 
friends could do was done to save her life, but of no avail, and Fanny died as 
she had lived, with a firm trust in her Savior.  Mr. Herrick has the sympathy 
of the entire community in this, his overwhelming loss.  The funeral will be 
held today (Thursday) at the Baptist church, Palo, under the charge of Rev. D. 
B. Munger.
