Robert J. Hershberger, aged 72, of Lake Odessa, passed away Monday morning, 
April 26, 2004 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.  Bob was born in Lake 
Odessa on February 7, 1932 to Howard and Anna (Sovis) Hershberger.

He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1951 and proudly served his 
country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war from 1952 to 1954.  He retired 
from Keeler Brass in 1994 after 39 years of service in Lake Odessa and Grand 
Rapids.

Bob is survived by Nancy, his loving wife of 49 years; children Barbara (Tim) 
Johnson, Roberta Heinze; brother, Ken (Margo) Hershberger; sister, Kaye 
Essner; and many other loving relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death 
by his parents; an infant daughter; and Nancy's parents, Kenneth and Dorothy 
Smith.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Koops Funeral Chapel 
in Lake Odessa.  The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the 
Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery.  The family has 
suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood Community 
Ambulance, Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post 4461 Scholarship Fund, or the Leukemia 
and Lymphoma Society.
