Hessler, 90, of Grattan Township, Belding, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 31, 2005, at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. Mildred was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Oakfield Township, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude Olmstead Cranmer. She was a past member of the Eastern Star of Grattan, now of Belding, served on the Grattan School Board and was a member of the Grattan Museum. Mildred was also the last surviving member of the 22nd Club. On July 5, 1933, she married Paul Hessler in Michigan City, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hessler; her parents; brother, Paul “Jack” Cranmer; sister, Fern Hessler; and son, Art. Mildred is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joan and H. Paul Reeves of Belding; daughter-in-law, Doris Hessler of Belding; grandchildren, Debbie Hessler, Dawn and Kim Talbott, Scott Hessler, Denise Hessler, Craig and Lisa Hessler, Kim and Michael Huler, Shawn and Larry Inman, Paula Byrne, Angela and Daryl Bush; great-grandchildren, Dustin Greenway, Jennifer Greenway, Kyle Greenway, Derek Byrne, Katelyn Byrne, Bryan Byrne, John Talbott, Victoria Hessler, Paul Hessler, Emily Hessler, Ryan Hessler, Jake Hessler, Kristin Bush, Hayden Bush; great-great-grandchild, Ryan Meeusen; sister-in-law, Velma Cranmer of Belding; and brother and sister-in-law, John and June Hessler of Belding. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to Grattan Museum or a charity of one’s choice.
