He was born March 23, 1859, on what is now the Claude Coppins farm and with the exception of a few years spent in Belding, had lived within a mile of his birthplace. He was the son of Olive Decker Heth and Washington Heth, pioneers in this county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Heth, two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Anna Buell of Richmond, California, and Miss Jim Fay Heth of Ionia, who cared for her father in his last illness. A daughter, Mrs. Olive Conkey died several years ago. There also survives a stepson, Earl Pratt of Grand Ledge; two stepchildren, Mrs. Mary Connor of Pasadena, California, and Frank Heth of Detroit, several nieces, nephews and grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Fales funeral home in Belding Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment was in Belding mausoleum.
