Neoma P. Hetherington, 59, of 9188 Murphy Road, Lyons, died Jan. 10 at her 
residence.  She was born April 2, 1929, in Lawrence County, Ill., the daughter 
of Joseph and Marie Earnest Carie.  She attended Berkley Public Schools, and 
was married to Charles Hetherington August 9, 1945, in Mount Pleasant.  She 
lived in Lansing before moving to Lyons in 1973.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Joseph and Daniel of Lyons; three 
daughters, Christine Hull of Ionia, Mary Hetherington of Lyons, and Tracy Durga 
of Belding; two sisters, Maxine Kavacs and Marie Carie of Ferndale; 15 
grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Hull Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. 
Theodore Voll of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will be in 
Lyons Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the American Cancer 
Society in care of the funeral home.
