Feb. 7.—The funeral of Mrs. Joseph J. Hettler took place Saturday afternoon from her late residence and was private. The remains were taken to St. Johns on the 4:18 Grand Trunk train and will be interred there later. Mrs. Hettler was prominent in Muir circles, having made many friends during her residence here. She was a daughter of Mrs. Isadore Sage of St. Johns, and a sister of Mrs. A. F. Bullard of St. Johns, Mrs. W. H. (…portion illegible…) The younger son, Willis Hettler, has been seriously ill and is not yet considered entirely out of danger. Carl Hettler, who is in the aviation section of the U.S. army, stationed at Pensacola, Fla., was communicated with at once upon his mother’s death and will be home, though not in time for the funeral Saturday. William Dilley had charge of the funeral under the instructions from George L. Shaw, the only undertaker in town who is confined to bed by illness.
